دراسة اقتصادية تحليلية للميزان التجاري الزراعي الليبي خلال الفترة (2000 – 2020 )

Abstract

   The study aims to identify the features of Libyan agricultural foreign trade. It is clear from the geographical distribution of exports and imports for the period (2015-2020) that Kuwait is the most important country importing potatoes from Libya, while the most important country importing dates is Jordan, while the most important country importing preserved vegetables is Italy. As for the most important countries exporting some agricultural commodities to Libya, wheat is imported from Ukraine and Romania, while wheat flour is imported from Tunisia, Ukraine, Italy, and Levantine corn is imported from Ukraine, Romania. Libyan agricultural foreign trade efficiency standards indicate that the average per capita share of agricultural exports amounted to about 0.002 and 0.002, for the first and second periods, respectively. While it reached about 0.247 and 0.535 for agricultural imports for the two periods respectively.  The average degree of agricultural foreign trade exposure also indicates that it reached about 7.85 and 9.84 for the first and second periods, respectively. The degree of economic participation in agricultural foreign trade also indicates that the average of the second period is higher than the first period, and this means that the country is a net importer. The average rate of Libyan economic dependency to the outside world indicates that it reached about 91.65 and 559.46 for the average of the first and second period of agricultural foreign trade, respectively. It also became clear that the average coverage rate of agricultural exports for Libyan agricultural imports for the second period was lower than the first period. The average tendency for Libyan agricultural imports reached approximately 90.84% and 0.70% as an average for the first and second periods, respectively, during the period of the economic blockade, which means that the state depends on agricultural imports from abroad. In that period, As for the period after the economic blockade, the average tendency for Libyan agricultural imports increased to about 557.32%, and the average tendency for Libyan agricultural exports increased to 2.14%.. The study also recommended the necessity of working to increase domestic production directed to foreign markets. And working to diversify the sources of imports so that The Libyan economy is more open to the outside world. Work to improve the Libyan export sector, especially non-oil.
