Believing in the vital role that the University of Derna plays in serving community issues and promoting sustainable development, the University of Derna Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (DUJHSS) was established by Decision No. (460) of 2022 issued by the President of the University of Derna. The journal has also obtained the legal deposit number (37/2023) from the National Library in Benghazi.
As a free, peer-reviewed scientific periodical, the DUJHSS seeks to serve as a rigorous academic platform that contributes to the dissemination of high-quality research and studies in the fields of humanities and social sciences. It aims to strengthen effective scholarly communication within its local and Arab contexts, while responding to societal needs through in-depth research approaches and modern scientific methodologies.
The DUJHSS places great emphasis on the selection of its editorial and advisory boards, whose members possess distinguished academic records and high scholarly credentials. This reflects the journal’s aspiration to compete effectively in the field of scientific research at both the Arab and international levels.
With confidence in pursuing this vision, we hope that the DUJHSS will become a significant academic outlet enriching the Libyan and Arab community with rigorous and impactful research that addresses contemporary issues.
