First - Publication Procedures
1. Research or studies shall be sent to the journal via email in a Word file, and all correspondence shall be addressed to the journal's editor-in-chief.
2. The journal shall notify the researcher(s) upon receipt of the research and its acceptance or rejection for publication.
3. The researcher shall submit a written declaration confirming that the research has not been published or submitted for publication in another journal. Declaration form (click to download)
4. The editorial board has the right to initially examine the scientific production submitted for publication and decide whether it is eligible for peer review or rejection.
5. Priority in publication shall be given to applied (practical) scientific production. Priority shall also be given to scientific production that addresses existing problems affecting Libya.
6. All submissions to the journal shall be evaluated according to generally accepted scientific principles and with complete confidentiality. Research shall be reviewed by two evaluators in the field of specialization. The journal may request the researcher, based on the opinion of the evaluation committee, to make any formal or substantive amendments to the research before approving it for publication.
7. Published research and articles express the opinions of the researchers and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the journal or the university.
8. The journal reserves the right to request that the author delete or rewrite their research, or any part thereof, in accordance with its publishing policy. The journal may make any formal amendments appropriate to the nature of the journal.
9. Research accepted for publication will be published according to the date of its final acceptance for publication.
10. When publishing a research in the journal, the date of receipt and the date of the decision to accept it for publication must be clearly stated.
11. The researcher will be provided with a copy of the journal issue.
12. Copyright and publication rights for the research will be transferred to the University of Derna Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences upon notification of acceptance.
13. Materials submitted to the journal will not be returned to their owners, whether published or not.
Second - Publication Conditions
1. The journal publishes original scientific research that meets scientific methodology.
2. The journal is dedicated to publishing scientific research submitted to it in the fields of the humanities and social sciences.
3. The research shall be submitted in Arabic or English, provided that two summaries of the scientific production are prepared, one in Arabic and the other in English, provided that each one does not exceed (200) words.

5. The scientific production submitted for publication shall not exceed (25) A4 pages and the number of words shall not exceed 10,000 words, including the two summaries in Arabic and English, as well as the list of references and appendices.
6. The title of the scientific production, the full name of the researcher or researchers, the institution to which he/she belongs, and the correspondence address (telephone and e-mail) shall be written.
7. Following the two abstracts in Arabic and English, there shall be key words (key words) not exceeding five words, expressing the fields covered by the scientific production.
8. The font type in the text for Arabic research shall be Simplified Arabic, size (14), single spacing between lines, and for English research, Times New Roman, size (12).
9. The font type in tables for Arabic research should be Simplified Arabic, size (13), and for English research should be Times New Roman, size (9).
10. The research pages should be numbered at the bottom of the page.
11. When writing scientific production, care must be taken not to mention the name of the researcher, or researchers, explicitly in the text, or with any indication that reveals his or their identity. Rather, the word “researcher, or researchers” must be used instead of the name, whether in the text, documentation, or in the list of references.
12. Charts and illustrative figures must be placed in the middle of the page. The charts and figures must be in black and white and numbered sequentially. Their names and explanatory notes must be written below them.
13. Tables must be placed in the middle of the page, numbered sequentially, and their names must be written above them. Explanatory notes must be written below the table.
14. Sources and references must be indicated below each figure or table.
15. The documentation style within the text and in the list of references in both Arabic and English must follow the American Psychological Association (APA) style.
16. Any reference from the Internet will not be accepted unless its extension is .gov or .edu.
17. Determining whether the research was taken from a thesis Master's or PhD thesis, clearly stated in the margin of the title page and fully documented
18. All scientific production submitted for publication in the journal is subject to an approved software program to detect any violations of intellectual property laws (plagiarism) to ensure its scientific integrity.
19. The editorial board has the right to request any documents it deems necessary to complete the initial examination or arbitration process, for example, but not limited to:) statistical data analysis forms - questionnaire sheets filled out by respondents - reports, etc.
20. In the event that any violations of intellectual property laws are proven, the submitter of the scientific production will be permanently prohibited from publishing in the journal.
