The study aimed to analyze the concept of scientific truth in light of Bas van Fraassen’s theory of empirical adequacy (modeling), rather than the traditional conception based on metaphysical correspondence. The researcher adopted the critical analytical method as the most appropriate approach for this context. The study concluded that scientific truth is understood within scientific models as empirical adequacy and success in explanation and prediction. Van Fraassen’s view also redefined scientific reality as restricted to what is observable, reducing ontological commitment and retaining only epistemic commitment within scientific practice. Scientific explanation has thus shifted into a descriptive account of phenomena rather than a disclosure of deep structures, raising an epistemological problem that separates practical success from scientific truth.
